The society owns two telescopes, both of which have multiple eyepieces to allow for better viewing of different space objects.
We regularly have astronomy nights, where society members gather with the telescopes to view and capture the night sky, and will attempt to view as many ‘special’ events as possible (meteorite showers, eclipses).
Society members also are able to borrow the telescopes for personal use, and are given training on how to assemble and operate the telescopes prior to this.
Occasionally we also are given access to the Loughborough University Physics Department’s observatory, which has several telescopes including a 16″ Meade LX200.
