Loughborough Space Society

Our society runs three main projects, the developement of our hybrid rocket engine, a high altitude balloon, and involvement with UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (UKSEDS)

STEM Outreach

We have a strong history of working with schools and educational institutions at both a local and national level, from our classroom activity pack ‘Rocket in a Box’ to involvement in events such as the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity.

We regularly run astronomy evenings for society members, including observation of special celestial events such as meteorite showers and eclipses. Occasionally we also recieve access to the Lougborough University Observatory.
